Welcome to the Spa

After being so disappointed with everything else I hit the gym every day. Loads of staff there and they do look a cut above the rest of the staff. However it seems it's beneath them to assist you in using the equipment.

The fitness suite is cheap enough at £5 per day or £10 for £5 session but if you want to use the pool it's £20 a go. Ridiculous! However the alternative is to join the queues at the free pool which start well before it opens and try and get a swim round all the kids. No chance.

We soon found out that the things that are free at Butlins are in the minority and queues are everywhere especially for your food!

Massage

By Thursday I was so stressed out having been at Butlins since Saturday I decided to book a massage. What a mistake that was. It simply confirmed every experience I'd had since arriving.

After my spell in the fitness room I had a shower. It was flooded when I used the toilet earlier and flooded again after I had a shower. The was no toilet paper in any of the toilets on both occasions an hour apart.

I'd requested a firm massage. It was £40 paid in advance for 55 minutes. You would be forgiven for thinking that's an hour less a few minutes changeover between clients. Wrong!

My massage was booked for 3pm. I was dumped in a chair to wait until some-one collected me at 3.05. I was then left 5 minutes to undress. I was left another 5 minutes at the end while she got me a glass of water plus a further 5 minutes to dress again. It was exactly 3.50 when I left the premises in other it cost £40 for 30 minutes of the most ineffectual massage I have ever had

The masseur was very pleasant and likeable but lost no time in telling me she wasn't really a 'Butlins girl'. She wanted to be an au pair in Australia. She finds the work at Butlins too hard! Not sure what she's find it like if she had to give a real massage!

Indian head massage theory come from the traditional methods Indian women used to groom themselves using oils for their hair. It's developed recently to become a way of massaging the head to help you relax feel rejuvenated and more aware of your body. Some say it is beneficial for Hair Loss also known as Alopecia
