My Husband and I went to ICD for our honeymoon and had a great time. The hotel is lovely, very well looked after and the staff never stop cleaning the rooms, the pool and the grounds. There is a great choice of food and drink 24 hours which was a bonus. I don't know how anyone could write a bad review about this hotel unless they have had a bad experience on holiday that influenced them. The country is very poor so you should bear that in mind though the locals are always friendly and happy people. I wouldn't go back here but only because I don't like going to the same place again when there are so many places to visit but it was the best holiday I have been on and not just because it was my honeymoon!

When we first arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by an immaculate lobby with very welcoming staff (and a nice cocktail). We were told we had a room near the sea and overlooking the mountain. My partner and I had a smile on our face that could of lit up a room.

The room- Nice size, good space. No complaints there, it was tidied everyday, mini bar stocked and towels changed etc.

The food- The buffet in the dining hall was quite extensive, there was something for everyone to eat. Once you sat down the staff would generally greet you and ask if you wanted a drink (even though it was self service). We ate in two of the other restaurants which included Mexican and Seafood, the food at these were delicious and the atmosphere was good. If you are someone that likes your food and drink this hotel would definitely cater to your needs. We enjoyed many alcoholic beverages.

The staff- I can honestly say that the staff out there go out of there way to cater to your needs, not only are they friendly but very polite. Lots of the staff work long hours and are on low wages. I would encourage tipping them, if you have found the service to be good.

Things to do- The beach by the hotel was nice, I enjoyed sunbathing with my boyfriend and going for a dip in the sea. I found there was a lot of sun loungers and did not tend to be reserved (it is so annoying when people reserve from morning, even though they are not using them). If you wanted to find a spot in the shade you could or you could be directly in the sun.

Whilst out there we did lots of day trips, we took a cable car to the top of the mountain, went to Paradise Island (really is Paradise) and went on the monster truck (that is a real experience). Be careful with who you book with, it is better done through your tour company/ travel agents.

Overall I would recommend this hotel to others and I would definitely stay here again. I can say this hotel is definitely worth staying at , if you and your partner want time away, somewhere that is overall excellent. I did not want to leave!

Until you actually go somewhere you cannot judge it until you have stayed there yourself. Sometimes you read a review and it puts you of, remember we all have different experiences in life!
